The characters from the movies that Tim Burton has created come alive during every Comic Con. Our company, Crystal Pyramid Productions, has covered the San Diego Comic Con for more than two decades, sending out broadcast video production crews to collect footage for clients including Nickelodeon, 20th Century Fox and Extra. In 2009, due to the Incredible Shrinking Economy, Mark and I freelanced, capturing stock footage of the costumed attendees and behind-the-scenes with some of the celebrities for our own stock footage library, called New & Unique Videos.

Clutch’s sister site, The Manifest, recently recognized Crystal Pyramid Productions. This type of acknowledgement further solidifies our superb standing in the San Diego area. Part of Clutch’s work is to compile lists of top companies in various geographic locales. This process makes for more transparent interactions between B2B firms. The San Diego Video Production list is an excellent resource for delving into the local market or getting a general sense of video production companies.

Geeks, nerds and costumed characters take over the city for four glorious days. As an elite video production crew in San Diego, our clients have called on us for over 25 years now to go and shoot interviews with celebrities, B-Roll of the masses, and Panels for various television shows and movies.

We shot for Electric Playground that year. Julie Stoffer from MTV’s The Real World, was the on-air talent. She was a lovely young woman who knew how to elicit nice interviews from talent. We ran into Bryan Singer on the floor where he was checking out various booths. He was the Producer of “Superman Returns” and “X Men.” He consented to a short interview. Considering what befell him in 2017 during the #MeToo movement, 2001 was his hey-day. It seemed like he had nowhere to go but up.

Whenever we work as a broadcast video production crew at the San Diego Comic Con, the city’s largest convention, I always bring my camera so I can capture some unusual behind-the-scenes images. You see everything from Klingons and Predators to Avatars and lots of sexy wenches. And who doesn’t love BTS photographs? So here are a few pics
