Diary of a San Diego Video Crew
Australia – Adventure of a Lifetime
One of the most spectacular vacations of our lives happened Australia. It was 1990, and Mark and I decided to backpack up the east coast of Australia. We landed in Melbourne, hitchhiked to Adelaide, visited the oldest mountains in the world, the Flinders Ranges, then crossed over to Sydney, and headed up the coast where we ended our extravaganza with a dive adventure to the Coral Sea and Great Barrier Reef on Mike Ball’s Spoilsport.
Viva Mexico!
Mexico is a country which has an incredible amount to offer. Its history, both cultural and political, is writ large upon the landscape in a fascinating manner. Its culture is unique, its food is spectacular, and its scenery takes a lot of beating for both beauty and variety.
Best Career Move
As a member of LinkedIn, there are a few groups to which I belong. Interspersed are some production stills we have shot over our years of producing and shooting video here in San Diego.

Candids Video
The way it works is this: Over the course of a day or more, the shooter covers the conventioneers and speakers at break-out sessions, gala events, award ceremonies, recreational activities out and about the hosting town, etc., and then delivers the raw footage to the editor who is on-site where a mobile editing system has been set up. The footage is copied onto the hard drive, along with music, logos and any other desired elements, and the editor then spends the next ten hours or more (sometimes all night long) creating a piece that will be played on IMAG screens for the conventioneers at a designated time, i.e., breakfast or lunch on the final day.
