Diary of a San Diego Video Crew
Steve Mason, Vietnam War Poet Laureate
You lost them to bullets, internment,
drugs, suicide, alcohol, jail, PTSD
Divorce, but never never did you any of you
ever lose them to the truth
which is now being shared
across this great nation
in such an act of spontaneous
moral courage, it’s like many
never have been seen on any battlefield
in the history of mankind….
Amen to that, brother.

Lumix Camera Found In the Ocean
We drove out to La Jolla Shores, suited up and strolled down the beach and into the water, donning our masks and fins. When Mark and I plunged into the ocean and began our snorkeling adventure last Thursday, we had no idea what kind of submerged treasure awaited us.
Wounded Warriors
Wounded warriors are some of the most generous people out there. They have given their all for the freedoms we enjoy, by serving our nation’s military. A few years ago, the VA asked us to help them with their Wounded Warriors Summer Sports Clinic Video. We couldn’t have been more thrilled. It was both an honor and an education to videotape interviews of wounded warriors who participated in the San Diego Summer Sports Clinic.
Great Mountain Biking Video 35th Anniversary
The Great Mountain Biking Video produced in 1987 is now celebrating its 35th anniversary. So hard to believe that it’s been that many years since we buckled into our toeclips and rode up and down the local San Diego mountains to introduce the world to the sport of Mountain Biking.
Mountain Biking India
What a gorgeous day in October 1993 it was when our small (three-person) video production crew arrived in the lovely town of Gangtok, Sikkim, India. My husband, Mark Schulze, and I had decided to participate in the First-ever Himalayan Run and Mountain Bike Trek, and to document it in our video, “Full Cycle: A World Odyssey.” So our friend, Mark Eveslage (aka “Marco”), decided to join us on this “endless summer on wheels” as Director of Photography.
Presidential Teleprompting
Presidential Teleprompting can be a very tricky thing. Our Presidential Teleprompter Operator, Patty Mooney, arrived at 7AM at a recent medical symposium to make sure she would be present when the headlining speaker needed to rehearse her keynote speech. The speaker had informed the video crew she would appear at 8 in the morning for a run-through. When the clock struck 8AM, no speaker had appeared. By 8:45 AM, still no speaker appeared, and that made Patty nervous.
