Diary of a San Diego Video Crew
Cost of Video Production
If you have a “tiny house” budget and can only afford to do a free or very cheaply-made video, it may be best to wait until your budget is bigger, or not do it at all. If you can’t do it right, then don’t do it at all, because that poorly-made video is going to be a reflection on you, and has the potential to do more harm than good.
Flying Wing Man Bob Cardenas
We had the opportunity to meet Brigadier General Bob Cardenas while producing our documentary “The Invisible Ones: Homeless Combat Veterans.” He was one of several good souls who appear in the show, talking about the topic of homeless veterans.
Technology for Every Generation
This may seem like trivial information, but it is actually very important for you to know. Especially if you run a business or are involved in social media or technology for a living. A strong presence of 50-year-olds and older online should affect the way that you advertise and try to connect with them. One can no longer assume that every person on Facebook is a teenager.
Married Couple Power Crystal Pyramid Productions
Crystal Pyramid Productions, the San Diego-based married couple Mark Schulze and Patty Mooney, has been capturing major San Diego events like Comic-Con, poignantly documenting the needs of area homeless veterans and producing corporate training videos since 1981.
Watts Wacker
I had never heard of Watts Wacker until he was the Keynote speaker at an Outdoor Advertising Association of America (OAAA) show here in San Diego in 2007. As stated at their website, “Founded in 1891, OAAA is a passionate advocate and a progressive thought leader that protects, unites, and advances the interests of the OOH advertising industry. With nearly 800 member companies, OAAA represents more than 90 percent of industry revenues.” Thus it happened that OAAA hosted the rumpled, Hawaiian-shirt-and-shorts-devotee himself Watts Wacker.
Greece
Ever since I explored Greece as an intrepid single 24-year-old in the late ‘70’s, I had longed to return, but not alone. This time, I wanted to share the magic of that golden land and its mythological roots with my soulmate. Ah, childish dreaming. Yet another myth, you may be thinking, for not many women ever find their prince. And so I humbly thank the gods and goddesses for the moment my eyes met his, on that theatre balcony in Encinitas, California, on Valentine’s Day, 1982.
