Special Commendation for Community Activism
From time to time in various communities across our nation, a thoughtful elected representative will present a Special Commendation to worthy citizens within that community. We’ve probably all seen these documents featuring a series of “Whereas” followed by a conclusion, “Now Therefore…..” It’s a thrilling event for the recipient. And so it was for us!
On our 34th wedding anniversary, this past July 23rd, our esteemed Councilman Raul A. Campillo (representing San Diego’s 7th District) presented a Special Commendation to Mark Schulze and me (Patty Mooney) as follows:
The List of Whereas’es
WHEREAS, Mark Schulze and Patricia Mooney have been tremendous champions of the San Carlos community; and
WHEREAS, Mark Schulze and Patricia Mooney’s award-winning videos have brought attention to countless important topics from the epidemic of homelessness among American combat veterans to cultural awareness of historical artifacts at Camp Pendleton; and
And WHEREAS, Mark Schulze and Patricia Mooney’s local business, Crystal Pyramid Productions, is the longest-standing video production company in San Diego, having been a fixture of the community for over 40 years;
A Silver Telly Award
WHEREAS, Crystal Pyramid Productions was the recipient of the 2021 Silver Telly Award for their “Cultural Resources Awareness Training” video; and
President and Vice President on Local Town Council
WHEREAS, Mark Schulze and Patricia Mooney have also served tirelessly on the San Carlos Area Council, fighting for community resources, and addressing key issues; and
WHEREAS, Mark Schulze and Patricia Mooney are hard-working, dedicated and involved citizens;
NOW THEREFORE, I, Raul A. Campillo, San Diego City Councilmember, do hereby present this commendation to Mark Schulze and Patricia Mooney and thank them for their many contributions on behalf of the people of San Diego.
The occasion was thrilling, as you can imagine, in the City Councilman’s chambers, surrounded by his team of exceptional aides.
We thank Councilman Raul Campillo and his team, for this most prestigious honor.
