The Innoflight Video
One of the most interesting videos we have produced over our 40+ San Diego video production career was for a company called Innoflight.

Twenty years ago Crystal Pyramid Productions provided a crew to drive up to Pechanga Casino and videotape interviews and behind-the-scenes footage of a very interesting poker game that was nationally televised called Poker Royale. It was James Wood Gang versus Unabombers. The celebrity roster included James Woods, Jennifer Tilly, Nicole Sullivan, Gail O’Grady, Danny Masterson, who played “Hyde” on “That 70’s Show” and several others.
Wounded warriors are some of the most generous people out there. They have given their all for the freedoms we enjoy, by serving our nation’s military. A few years ago, the VA asked us to help them with their Wounded Warriors Summer Sports Clinic Video. We couldn’t have been more thrilled. It was both an honor and an education to videotape interviews of wounded warriors who participated in the San Diego Summer Sports Clinic.
Presidential Teleprompting can be a very tricky thing. Our Presidential Teleprompter Operator, Patty Mooney, arrived at 7AM at a recent medical symposium to make sure she would be present when the headlining speaker needed to rehearse her keynote speech. The speaker had informed the video crew she would appear at 8 in the morning for a run-through. When the clock struck 8AM, no speaker had appeared. By 8:45 AM, still no speaker appeared, and that made Patty nervous.
Saturday, our erstwhile crew loaded up the gear and headed down the road for Liberty Station where there were signs during the overcast morning that the sun would be joining us eventually. And during one point between interviews, there was some rainfall and we needed to protect the gear with an umbrella. But nobody’s spirits were dampened. On the contrary, most of the people we spoke with expressed their joy that upon seeing so many other people who bear the mysterious disease known as lupus, they realized they were not alone.
I had never heard of Watts Wacker until he was the Keynote speaker at an Outdoor Advertising Association of America (OAAA) show here in San Diego in 2007. As stated at their website, “Founded in 1891, OAAA is a passionate advocate and a progressive thought leader that protects, unites, and advances the interests of the OOH advertising industry. With nearly 800 member companies, OAAA represents more than 90 percent of industry revenues.” Thus it happened that OAAA hosted the rumpled, Hawaiian-shirt-and-shorts-devotee himself Watts Wacker.
